About Me:
I thrive on adventure, and integrate that with my documentary work. I've filmed on Everest and McKinley (PBS/Nova, BBC), sailed the Pacific on an ancient-styled reedship (Nat Geo), and climbed a bunch of unknown, unimportant, ambiguous and remote mountains. I'm currently spearheading two documentary projects: the first a documentary about photographer, mountaineer, cartographer, scientist Bradford Washburn, the second about legendary blues harp player Paul Butterfield.

Some of my clips can be seen on a youtube page of mine: www.youtube.com/dharmabum333

Hey Thom, you have a real good eye for finding the story. Have you ever done any ski films?

Filmaka.com just posted their next contest! They're looking for
pitches for a web series about people and their cars. You submit a
detailed written synopsis of a film 3 to 5 minutes in length, with 4
or 5 more episode ideas intended to total around 30 minutes of
original webisodic content. Finalists receive $5000 each. General
Motors is sponsoring the contest and if they decide to produce final
pitches, they will fund the production. Filmaka.com will start
accepting submissions in the middle of next week and the contest
closes March 11. Details at: http://www.filmaka.com/gm/

Hi Thom--always good to hear from someone else in the trenches. I'm currently in deepest, darkest post-production finishing my film, so don't have much time for the network. Some day soon, though, I hope I can catch up with what everyone else is doing.

Thom- My bud, Thom Mayhew on Martha's Vineyard is a filmmaker who a few years back shot an interesting vid on shamans of PERU, specifically to try to document their native use of natural medicines. Unfortunately for Thom no amount of cocoa leaves could dim the pain of altituude sickness (after all he is a sea-level kind of guy).

Hi Thom,
It was nice chatting with you yesterday! Vic Clay mentioned a very good resource to me yesterday that i thought you might want to know about- it is the film budgeting group on Yahoo. Are you a member of that group? I signed up for it yesterday and have looked through a little bit and think it could be a good resource for you. http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/FilmBudgeting/
