- About Me:
- I'm an independent Writer/Director/Producer working on a controversial, as yet un-funded documentary on the Medical Industry and Alternative medicine.
I have 18 years experience writing, directing, producing commercials, shows, show segments, industrials, etc...and won many industry awards.
I have also done stand-up, been in two Improv troupes, write comedy and act. I'm with The Mary Collins Agency in Dallas, TX.
- Current filmmaking concerns:
- Want to learn how to find/receive grant funding, ANY kind of funding to do this documentary.
- About my films:
- I prefer the styles of reporting used by the Walter Cronkites, Bill Moyers and Charlie Roses of the world. Ask the questions fairly, un-emotionally, professionally and the truth has a better chance of surfacing. People will generally hang themselves or be exonerated if they feel safe in the interview process.
- Books I'm reading:
- "Directing the Documentary" by Michael Rabiger.
- Films I love (or can't wait to see):
- I think "Fight Club" is a spiritual movie and watch it just to ground myself. Godfather I and II, Bladerunner, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Napoleon Dynamite, Giant, Animal House, so many more.
- Television --the papers say its the golden age- you agree (or you don't!) because you watch.....
- Actually got rid of cable TV. Rent only what I want to see. Sick of CNN (Constantly Negative News) running the same stories of campus shootings 14 times in one hour.
I DO miss the History Channel, Discovery, National Geographic and The Office. But there's always Netflix!
