Profile Information

City:
Gotham City
Filmmaker? Genres you work in:
documentary, narrative, corporate, educational
About Me:
"And remember Steve - don't talk to strangers!" –-mom (growing up) LOL it's all I did!

I am Italian American, from a large extended family and family re-unions were always a lot of fun, like the circus came to town — too many people, with strong opinions, talking way too loud and all at once, in different languages, eating lots of food and sugary sweets, drinking espresso and homemade wine, laughing, arguing, music, singing — all in abundance. A deliciously rich training ground, it was here I first picked up my tape recorder and camera to capture the events around me.

My filmmaking training and education really began in high school, then continued at New York University's Tisch School, and developed professionally in documentary filmmaking, corporate communications and professional interviewing.

Now, I am a dynamic focus group moderator with extensive experience working with Fortune 100 companies, ad agencies, and clients worldwide in qualitative research, public opinion gathering, and consumer testing. For the development of advertising, products, and services, I speak with business executives and everyday consumers in focus groups and individually in the following areas: technology, entertainment, travel, consumer goods and services, food/beverages, health, fashion and beauty.

I approach life and work with that same curious nature, open mind, and inquiring sensibility. I know listening and observing are critical, just as important as talking and asking the right questions.

I strive to consistently deliver strong, memorable work supported by solid integrity and creativity. I do this to help my clients address and navigate marketing challenges with courage and to help them successfully align their companies for success by integrating consumer insights with marketing objectives.

This is what I enjoy. This is what I do well. Talk to me - I'm listening!

Current filmmaking concerns:
"Re-examine all you have been told in school or church or in any book
and dismiss whatever insults your own soul." --Walt Whitman
About my films:
"We work in the dark, we do what we can, we have what we have.
Our doubt is our passion and our passion is our task.
The rest is the madness of art!" --Henry James
Books I'm reading:
william stafford and mary oliver poems. and my own writing.
Films I love (or can't wait to see):
It's summertime - anything exciting at a drive-in! I am a child at heart.
Television --the papers say its the golden age- you agree (or you don't!) because you watch.....
what's happening in the background.

Thanks for your nice note, much appreciated. Although wouldn't your mom be upset with you for reaching out to strangers? :)
