I'm dealing with too many record labels and not enough film directors who could use some music. FREE High quality music for promotional & credit compensation only.

Can you help me add more film producers to the list?

Filmaka.com just posted their next contest! They're looking for
pitches for a web series about people and their cars. You submit a
detailed written synopsis of a film 3 to 5 minutes in length, with 4
or 5 more episode ideas intended to total around 30 minutes of
original webisodic content. Finalists receive $5000 each. General
Motors is sponsoring the contest and if they decide to produce final
pitches, they will fund the production. Filmaka.com will start
accepting submissions in the middle of next week and the contest
closes March 11. Details at: http://www.filmaka.com/gm/

I saw John Sayles speak at the national ACLU conference in 2004. He was presenting his film at the time (forgot the title), the one with Chris Cooper playing a Bush-like president hahahaa!!! It's good to meet musicians who love docs. I kinda have the mindset of using footage based on the music I want to be in the film, not the other way around. Oh yeah and Grizzly Man, that's the next DVD on my netflix queue!!! I can't wait to see it!!

About my films:
I have two documentaries -

" Chaos and Order: Making American Theater" as director. This is a look at the current state of American theater through the voices of 22 actors, directors, producers, administrators, and designers. Many notable figures in theater are interviewed. This was done in collaboration with the New England Institute of Art and the American Repertory Theater where Andre Serban's 2004 production of Pericles is profiled.

Just being completed is "Radical Jesters" as writer, director, and producer. This is a look at the work and the issues linking 12 "interventionists”, performance artists, and Situationists.
The film is a collaboration of students, musicians, and the artists themselves. It is outrageous and amusing, but full of important questions regarding media and commercial culture.
Books I'm reading:
Willing by Scott Spencer
The Maytrees by Annie Dillard
Night of the Hunter by Davis Grubb
Films I love (or can't wait to see):

Television --the papers say its the golden age- you agree (or you don't!) because you watch.....
John Stewart
Mad Men
In Treatment
I played drums recently with John Sayles as he read his short story "Keeping Time".
His new film Honeydripper was based on this story.
